Tarot, and what I have learned about it

Origin of Tarot in a nutshell
There’s still a lot of mystics around the Tarot cards, and for centuries they’ve been used for divination, self-discovery, and entertainment. Their roots go back in the early Renaissance, where the first tarot decks appeared in Italy and France, and then spread across Europe.
The most iconic, timeless, and best-known Tarot deck that has become today’s standard, is the classic Raider-Waite Smith Deck, portrayed by Pamela Colman Smith in 1909. (see cards image above)
Traditionally, a Tarot deck comprises 78 cards, with a similar structure to a regular playing card deck. The only difference makes the 22 Major Arcana cards that represent the archetype of our Soul’s lessons. The 40 Minor Arcana represent archetypes of universal feelings, actions, and situations in our daily life. Lastly, the 16 Court Cards represent archetype personalities and stages in life. Check out my tool gallery for examples of how different decks can be created.
Depending on the questions we ask, the images of the cards illustrate the notion of our answers. This reflection is what we receive as guidance on how to achieve goals, make decisions, or on how to go about the next step in life. They can be seen as a mirror reflecting our thoughts, emotions, desires, and behaviours.

How Tarot works
When you ask empowered, clear and simple questions, you will receive an answer, especially when you approach it from a place of soul-searching, self-reflection, growth, and healing.
Really, there’s no Woo-Woo magic involved - at least not in my practice! The cards get shuffled in whichever way you feel like, while holding the question with a clear intention in mind, and pull one or more cards. There’s no right or wrong way to do that. Then pay attention to what energies you feel, or to what comes to your first impression, when gazing at the cards. Think of the question, and simply reflect on the cards. The answers you seek are inside you already.
There are no rules when it comes to practicing Tarot. It’s good to know some key words for each card, actually, there’s no need to learn all the card meanings. It’s totally fine to only immerse into the image and to trust that you’ll find the key in it. The value of Tarot lies in being open and curious about the cards and their message, and it is your decision what you make of it.

Why I use Tarot & Oracle cards
Because Tarot is ancient wisdom and a sacred spiritual practice I resonate with. I consult Tarot as if I were asking the advice of a wise friend, a teacher, or a mentor.
Tarot has been of great help to me both personally and spiritually, so I trust that it is a powerful tool that can help us to affect real, empowered changes in our lives. Honestly, I think everyone would benefit from reading Tarot and Oracles!
Working with the cards on a daily basis has changed the way I perceive my life, which has become much more intentional.
Ultimately, I trust in divine guidance and always turn to source, for that will always steer me in the right direction. I work with divine beings from the angelic, elemental, and animal kingdom, my ancestors and other multidimensional Light Beings.

How I use the cards
In my readings, I decode interrelated messages from the images of Tarot & Oracle cards, based on guidance from higher sources, my knowledge and my own personal life experience.
I use the cards for the present and the near future because it reflects probabilities. Why? Because I believe that we all have free will in terms of the things we can control, and that our paths constantly change with every decision we make.
Tarot cards reflect universal energies. The decks that I am using are my tools. They’re simply cards on a cardboard, though each card expresses its energy in many different ways, depending on the situation at hand. The selection of the decks are vital to me because I definitely let the images guide me. I also work with my pendulum to receive guidance, and I fully trust that these messages (through images, acoustic, senses) are meant to be delivered to the right person at the right time when they need to hear them.
I often include oracle cards, numerology, astrology, and read reversals (when a card appears upside-down) which brings an extra layer of depth and insight to my readings. I prefer to feel the energy than to follow the traditional reversed card meanings which generally focuses on the opposite of the upright card meanings.
